Some MCK accessories catch your spent brass. Others enable positive weapon retention. Some break glass.
Others are designed to help you improve your accuracy – and these are the best of them.
Thumb Rests
Dirt cheap and easy-to-install, MCK thumb rests expand the profile of the platform and give your hands a natural resting place on the sides of the chassis.
This, in turn, improves handling and recoil mitigation, which in turn reduces muzzle flip, which, you guessed it, improves accuracy – with training, that is.
Flip-Up Back-Up Sights
Alright, so, flip-up backup sights won’t technically improve your accuracy with an MCK. But, if the batteries on your red dot sight die, you’ll be glad you had them.
Plus, it’s really hard to aim a platform that utterly lacks sights, even if you’re a really good reflexive shooter.
Also, iron sights have a lot going for them. They are physically durable, need no batteries, work in all light conditions, and are fog proof, waterproof, dustproof, shockproof, and shatter-resistant.
What’s not to love?
MCK Red Dot Sights
Now we’re getting into the meat and potatoes of MCK accessories designed to boost your accuracy and this is probably the best one of all.
This MCK red dot sight, which you can see via the previous link, was done in collaboration with Crimson Trace, and exhibits high quality and functionality.
Let’s start with the basics. This thing is built tough and is made from aircraft-grade anodized aluminum. It’s shock, impact, dust, fog, and recoil resistant.
This red dot sight has 7 different red and 7 different green illumination settings, making it perfect in all light conditions. It has a 4.0 MOA round dot that is adjustable in 1 MOA increments, up to 50 MOA for both windage and elevation.
That makes this red dot sight useful for shooting up close as well as at fairly extended ranges.
It utilizes durable, multi-coated glass which reduces glare and offers a clear sight picture – not to mention that the red dot is extremely crisp.
It’s also long-lasting. It accepts a CR123 battery and offers up to 1.3 years of battery life, but it also features an automatic 1-hour-off function to preserve the battery life.
It’s a solid MCK accessory if your goal is to improve your ability to make quick, accurate shots in succession at both close and medium ranges.
Extended Glock Barrels
This might sound a bit counterintuitive, but an extended Glock barrel (which can be paired with MCK-compatible Glock pistols) can be a great accessory for extending range and improving accuracy.
But why is this? The reason lies in ballistics.
A bullet’s power (which helps determine range) and accuracy are determined primarily by the propellant charge, the length of the barrel, and the rifling in the barrel.
All else being equal, shorter barrels cannot produce the same power and range as longer barrels because the longer barrel traps the gases behind the projectile for longer, ensuring greater acceleration.
But as for accuracy? The longer the bullet is in contact with the rifling, the more effectively it will be spin stabilized after exiting the muzzle.
So, even though it might seem like a weird thing to do with a handgun, adding an extended barrel can improve accuracy and range.
