To try on a silk snood is to adopt it. At Fibral Creative, we love the silk snood, teal shawl, the perfect combination of our favorite material for scarves, natural silk, and a super trendy, chic, practical format.

The Origin of The Snood

The word snood evokes a large circular wool scarf to wrap up against the cold. Initially, this curious word was designated in English as a hair net or an ear protector for breed dogs with fragile ears!

But things are changing, and from a practical object, the snood has become a scarf intended for humans. Although if you want to spoil your dog, nothing prevents you from offering him one!

Adopted in French to designate a tubular scarf, it has become an essential trendy accessory, declined in many ways, from the anti-cold fleece scarf in thick knitted wool to the spring version in light cotton.

Why Choose a Silk Snood?

Although it is less warm than rustic materials such as wool or synthetics such as fleece, silk twill has many advantages!

In terms of style, this beautiful material, with its sumptuous drape, brings an undeniable chic note. In addition, the printing of patterns and colors is superb on this thick and lustrous silk fabric.

On the practical side, silk twill keeps the neck warm but never too hot, thanks to the exceptional thermal qualities of silk. It is an ideal scarf for all seasons, in temperate climates, and from autumn to spring elsewhere. In addition, you can ideally wear it inside without getting too hot.

Another significant advantage: the silk does not itch!

The Snood, A Circular Scarf That Does Without Knots

Unlike classic scarves, squares and scarves, the snood does not need a knot to hold its place: it can be put on quickly and never escapes.

It is worn rolled up 2 or 3 times depending on the ambient temperature and the desired effect:

2 rounds for maximum effect

Three turns for maximum protection against wind or cold, and you pull it up over your head like a hood if it starts to rain by chance.

With a circular scarf, no more knots that hold badly! Wrapped around the neck in no time, the snood does not slip off, does not come undone, and never slips on the ground inadvertently — unless you make the tree straight!

Finally, this scarf model is suitable for both men and women.

So why not try it? You may love it so much that you will adopt it in all circumstances!

Our Collection Of Silk Snoods

All our snoods are handcrafted in Catalonia: printed in high definition on heavy silk twill, then sewn in double thickness and closed by hand. The circle’s circumference is 180cm, which allows you to do 3 laps without problems, and the width is 22cm, with 2 layers of fabric. The 2 sides are different, sometimes with a contrasting print.

Like all our other silk scarves, our snoods are inspired by nature or art. Here are some items from our collection to discover in full here.
